My Artist Residency at the Princess Bermuda
Hey yall!
I'm currently in the Atlanta airport waiting out a 5 hr layover. In case you haven’t been following along on IG (watch my story highlights here), I’ve been in paradise for the past week with the Princess Bermuda as part of their artist residency program. I’d never heard of an “artist residency” before and initially thought it had to be some sort of a scam when they first reached out with the invitation to stay for an entire week to paint something for their collection. But a few emails and a phone call later, the trip was written on my calendar in bright pink letters. Their marketing coordinator Madison put together the BEST itinerary for us (my sister Nell came along with me) to make sure I experienced all the highlights and yall there aren’t enough colors in the world to express how amazing the trip was.
The Princess Bermuda is located on the harbor so we had a beautiful view of the boats during our stay. There were 2 pools on the property that we frequented despite some rain (Side note: both the Tattooist of Auschwitz and Daisy Jones & the Six are both MUST reads). For more adventures, they had the CUTEST pink jitney shuttle that you could take to their private beach club as well. We took the jitney for a sunset beach dinner one night and took it a second time to spend a day at the beach. As you can see in the photos above, the view is pretty breathtaking and you can even walk up a small hill for a view of some rocks down below.
If you love color as much as me, you NEED to add this place to your bucket list. The Princess Bermuda Hotel is PINK, surrounded by green palm trees, the most beautiful flowers, and the prettiest blue harbor. The streets of the town Hamilton were filled with one adorable and colorful building after another. After visiting a few other tropical places, I was totally surprised by the town there; I was not expecting the streets to be so well developed and have such incredible architecture and color to them. I hadn’t planned on painting much while actually there, but, if you watch my instagram story highlights here, you’ll see that I painted multiple pieces about every afternoon before dinner. I found myself endlessly inspired by the flowers, palm leaves, seascapes, and colorful buildings surrounding me. I think every day I found a new flower or plant that I hadn’t noticed the day before!
If you end up visiting in the near future, below are a few recommendations:
-If you stay at the Princess Bermuda, it’s worth it to upgrade to be a gold member; there’s a complimentary breakfast (my sister and I loved their scones), an afternoon tea (mini sandwiches FTW), and desserts in the evening.
-The Marcus (at the Princess Bermuda): we went for both brunch and dinner and all the food there was amazing.
-1609 (at the Princess Bermuda): I'd get the cucumber basil fizz and follow it with some delicious tacos (I got the fish and my sister got the vegetable ones).
-Devils Isle Cafe (a few blocks from the Princess Bermuda)—my sister and I both got the burrito bowl with falafel (SO good and the small size is PLENTY of food I promise).
-The Princess Bermuda Beach Club is a must-see! (that's where I took the photo of the rocks in the water above)
-And most importantly: do an art gallery tour at the Princess Bermuda and request to see their new piece by yours truly ;) I’m not sure where they’re displaying it yet, but I will let you know should I find out.
As far as the art I painted there goes, I gifted 3 pieces to the hotel as part of the residency program. I’ll also release a collection of about 10-12 pieces exclusively to my email list in the next month. Sign up here to be notified via email. If you’re not on my email list already, know that I currently send out an email about every Friday that always has a freebie or a discount. And occasionally, you might get an email about a new product or an exclusive art release like this.
As always, thank yall so much for following along and being interested in my art. I’m so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had this May (between this and getting to do ANOTHER mural!) and SO SO SO much of that is thanks to you. Here’s to (hopefully) many more adventures!

PS no but seriously if anyone has connections they can use to convince another beautiful resort to take in an artist for the week as a guest, pass my name along! ;)
