Pumpkin Painting DIY
Every Fall, I buy a few pumpkins to paint just for fun. One year I painted my dog Rocky Henson, another year I painted a colorful brightly decorated life inspired pattern, and last year I painted prints from the home collection (see here, here, and here).
This year I painted designs inspired by the confetti hearts wall, the confetti stripes wall, and the palm queen print! For anyone who has never painted pumpkins before, below are three steps for making it happen! It's a whole lot easier than carving them and will instantly get you pump(kin)ed up for Fall!
PUMPKIN PAINTING DIY
- Pick a design you really love. I would try a pattern from this collection or a favorite quote like these from pinterest.
- Start by painting a white base coat first and let it dry.
- Paint your design from there! I used a mix of gouache, acrylics, and some sample latex paints I had in my studio. If you don't have any paints on hand, I'd buy cheap acrylics like these (available at most craft stores).
Happy painting!
