Fall/Winter 2014 Lookbook
One of the best parts of a new collection is seeing it all finally come together after months of brainstorming and illustrating. With all the failed sketches and not so good ideas that happen behind the scenes (like say this cat illustration), it's exciting to finally have a cohesive lookbook to show for all the hard work. Above are a few of my favorite photos from this season's lookbook.
My goal was for all the illustrations, free downloads, journals, and lucites to all go hand in hand. Visually, I mostly stuck to hot pink, emeralds, navy, orchid, and animal print, and paired them with cheeky phrases. Below is an excerpt from my artist's letter that represents my intentions for the new collection:
"For this series, I wanted to illustrate a story, starring the girl who dresses like animal prints are a neutral, collects more coffee table books than her small apartment can handle, and always says yes to adventure (whether it’s for happy hour cocktails or a spontaneous road trip). She’s colorful and imperfect, but kind above all. Her bad days can be remedied with lipstick and a good book, and her daydreams include home just as often as they do zebras and giraffes. There’s a piece of this girl in every print, and, as you add new works of art to your home this season, I hope you’ll take a piece of her with you."
